I don't think this has to be considered "woo-woo" at all. After all, we're dealing with millions of years of evolution. We've evolved to pay attention to subtleties in our environments, and some of us are really good at it.

We're better at picking up on patterns, better at reading micro-expressions, better at sensing a shift of energy, etc.

The knowledge isn't the problem. The problem, for me, is that people around me aren't always prepared to hear what I know about them, things they thought they could hide.

Ooof... you're spot on here! It's a bit of an X Ray vision sometimes and other people are NOT ready for it

LOVE this new territory you are exploring and I’ve been thinking a lot of the same and deep diving all these kinds of topics. I have always been ‘a bit psychic’ and find when I fully connect to myself through meditation, journaling etc I’m more tuned into this frequency and weird stuff happens. When I’m bogged down in the day to day it’s like the switch is off. It’s fascinating and exciting and I truly believe that in the age of AI far more us will be drawn to focusing on this side of ourselves which is probably in all of us to an extent - especially the highly sensitive & neurodivergent people! 👀

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

Absolutely Georgina. As AI and technology progresses I believe we will be seeker deeper in ourselves and will see just how special being a human can be. I think the change is happening and I am excited for humanity to finally be tapping into these incredible realms again 🦋

Same! I’ll look forward to more content like this as I’ve not yet tapped into this kind of content on Substack, though I’m sure it exists. Exciting & hopeful times ✨

Prayer meditation and journaling ignites this fire for me. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

This made me smile. I’m an HSP but because I have so many layers of conditioning, it can feel hard to understand sometimes what’s my sensitivity vs what I had to adopt. My 3-year-old daughter though, is also an HSP and her true self is right there on the surface. And she knows things that have no explanation for her knowing… like knowing someone is about to call before the phone rings, or when someone has a stomach ache. I also don’t tell many people this because I’m afraid they’ll look at me like I’m crazy!

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

Kathleen...if I have come to understand one thing so clearly is that children are the MOST psychic/telepathic of us all!! They are incredible and so tapped in and full of wisdom. Now our job is to enter back into our childlike states, access joy, open our hearts and SEE a new reality emerge. Great seeing your name pop up again x

Recovery Through Jesus's avatar

Yes, become like little children, they see with greater purity and deeper clarity.

Thanks for this. I have also put up barriers around my highly sensitive and intuitive self. Honestly, I think it's necessary in order to function in some spaces.

Recovery Through Jesus's avatar

I also have to put up boundaries so not to take on others 'feelings' and 'physical experiences.' I'm so grateful that I now know that this is a gift from God, used to help other women. I lived for decades not understanding this gift, and it was overwhelming.

I see you. I hear you. I feel that frustration as well.

I loved reading this thank you! It resonates with me. I hear, see and know things about people that I would never dare share. I've come to trust it but most people in my life would be spooked if I told them the truth. It's interesting what you said about AI, although, I see humans as DI (Divine Intelligence), can AI really out knowledge us, or is it that humans (highly sensitive, Physic humans) are just now learning to accept and work with the knowledge we have within?

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

Oh my gosh. DI - Divine intelligence!!! I love this distinction. And you are right. I feel like if I told people half the things I knew or saw they would freak out!! Thank you for reading and your kind comment 🤗

I think it's a pretty safe conclusion to draw based on what we know about ourselves as HSP's. Things that come to mind are examples like that cousin or guy who you get an "off" feeling about and tell your daughter, "Don't you EVER be alone with him in a room." Then years later they do something devious and get caught. Or when you clock a girlfriend who you just never trust and again, years later you find out they're a far right racist who doesn't believe the history books. I could go on. I often get thoughts of a person right before they call or text, people I haven't thought of in years. So maybe you're tuning into wavelengths we can't prove are there but WE as HSP's can tune into. Also that feeling of knowing someone is a match in the romantic department years before they see it or coming back to them years later; I think we can sense those things much much faster and more accurate than other people. We seem to get the message or the download instantly and they just don't feel/see it. Good luck exploring this fun subject!

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

Ah thank you so much Vanessa!! Yes everything you said is spot on. There are so many incidents where we are tapping into a greater level of intelligence and consciousness. It's not just us being "too sensitive" or even projecting (being told you are projecting your own stuff on to others...which can happen but there's a very different feeling or energy when its coming from a trigger /hurt versus just "knowing"). Years from now we will look back in disbelief of how little of our superpowers we were really tapping into. But im exited to be a part of this next wave of human levelling up!! Thanks for reading x

Brave! Well done 👏

Many a sensitive/psychic woman has been locked up and historically even x'ed for her sensitivities and "abilities."

These days drugging them seems to have been the "easier" path.

Makes the suppression and hiding make more sense, doesn't it?

So much empathy and compassion for the way women have had to survive and adapt...

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

Yes - how sadly true this is. I have also gone down the path of antidepressants which have 'blunted me' - and I suspect my intuitive abilities as well. I am in the processes of weaning myself off so I am sure I will be writing about this soon! Thanks for commenting Jacqui!

I have this knowing right away when I meet a person. It’s like I can see all the good and bad. People don’t usually believe me when I know things before they happen. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night crying because something horrible happened on the other side of the globe. I used to hide this part of me, now I’m just careful with who I share it with. I no longer suppress these qualities anymore though because my life is brighter with my gifts.

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

Yes Amber!!! This is it. It's like you can see someone with an X Ray. I am glad you are not repressing this side of you. I believe this is a collective effort and if all of us start tapping into this more I feel we will really start to rise in our humanity more!

Recovery Through Jesus's avatar

Yes, these gifts are so helpful as we are walking this journey with one another in healing.

We can ask God to give us More...More God More... He is faithful.

Recovery Through Jesus's avatar

Prophecy, Words of Knowledge, and Discernment of Spirits... real powerful gifts from the Holy Spirit. Sounds like that is what you're describing.

Mariangela's avatar

We may not fully understand these forms of knowing yet (though certainly this does not make them less real). More and more, I believe they will be the very things that differentiate us as humans and, perhaps selfishly speaking, give sensitive people a distinct advantage in a world increasingly optimized for information.

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

absolutely - isn't it an interesting turn of events!

I think many sensitive people spend years learning how to distrust themselves. To second-guess what they feel, what they notice, what their instincts are trying to tell them. After a while it becomes so automatic that we hardly realize we're doing it.

Maybe part of healing is learning to listen again. Not perfectly, not with certainty, but with a little more trust than before. This gave me a lot to think about. Beautifully written. 🙏😊🤍❤️

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

thank you Aaliya - yes it is scary how we (and society) have gaslit ourselves in such a massive way. I agree that healing means listening and trusting ourselves. The one thing that helps me is to ask if a message is coming from 'love' or coming from 'fear'...Love has been a very big activator for me in these psychic department. You can literally open your heart and receive messages and signals from there. The world is a very magical place!

Rebecca | Spark Joy & Flow's avatar

Definitely ✨ I've known since childhood that I was psychic, but I spent decades masking it and trying to explain everything away. Now I've made peace with the fact that I can read a room, a home, and often a box of sentimental clutter before it's even opened 😅🔮 A recovering closet witch turned professional space witch 🧹✨🌙💛

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

hahaha love that phrase " A recovering closet witch turned professional space witch" - you definitely strike me as someone who accesses this other world deeply Rebecca!

YES TO ALL OF IT.

Thank you for writing about this. It’s such an important topic and one on my mind for decades. I can’t wait to comeback to leave a longer comment. Leaving town tomorrow am. 🌸

I believe that we all have the potential, but as the musician Seal has stated: "In a world full of people, only some want to fly, isn't that crazy?" After reading most of the comments: yes, we are DI (Divine Intelligence), yes most people will think you are crazy (until they experience your truth that saves them from a life of surviving instead of thriving) and in order to return to the openness and intuitive nature of our childhood (usually before age 8), we may need to say good-bye to the familiar (family of origin anyone?) and that is most uncomfortable (even if it's damaging and low energy). The last part is something that most do not want to do - it means acknowledging their truth and grieving for what they wish could have been different or better and that is personal growth work. I hope you want to fly- no you are not crazy.

Glimmers's avatar

Yes to all of this. I too shut it down in my 20s but lately have begun noticing things again especially around people, energy and intentions. I’m not sure if it’s me finally embracing my neurodivergence, that I’m just super sensitive or that there is more to it than I know. I do know this: I don’t know so I will not dismiss it or make it small.

I believe many of the masks we wear are slipping away and so much of the “crazy” theories are now proving to be truth at their core. Maybe I’m more attuned for that reason?

Thank you for writing about this. 💪💖

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

thank you for reading Glimmers!! Yes I believe the more we unmask from this 3D space, the more that is revealed from the 'whole'!

I have waited years to be able to put words and explain all i have experienced in the last decade when it comes to knowing things and seeing images others do not. I would love reading more about this topic and to connect. I just recently started a Substack Come Wonder with Me but haven’t yet written about this topic in my posts yet but one day i’ll be brave enough to. Thank you for sharing. It’s good to know there are others out there asking this question.

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

Hi Suzanne - I am very curious to know more about your experiences too so I hope one day you do write about it!! I feel so many of us sensitive souls are in the psychic 'closet'!

Suzanne Lawrimore's avatar

Hi! Thank you so much for replying! i love your post and read it every time a new one comes out. My unusual experiences were present off and on throughout my life but when i was in a clinical trial with esketamine i evidently was very sensitive to begin with and they were magnified for a few years. My challenge has been to try to make a coherent narrative but im making progress! I’ll let you know how it goes! I’d love to stay in touch!

✨️ Highly Sensitive Woman ✨️'s avatar

thanks for sharing Suzanne - yes I think its important that during this process we keep some level of coherence, spend time to integrate and also ground ourselves in the process! Definitely lets stay in touch!! :)

Oooh this definitely resonates as a HSP and a therapist. ✨ Can’t wait to hear more from you on this topic, Andy 💛

I am glad Stewart - I know it's not everyone's cup of tea! But I feel most us sensitive folk seem quite open to this!
